Headland first three years of my existence, and although all my family come from old Hartlepool originally most of them moved out over time. I don't think there's any left there now. After I moved, I grew up in West View/King Oswy.
Anywhere you lived to qualify to attend Henry's counts as part of old Hartlepool for me, I think it's fair to say. No way does Hart Station, Clav, Central, King Oswy or West View belong to West, they are an extension of the town of old Hartlepool.

sounds right, that seemed to be the divide past Oakesway estate and Easington Road/Throston Grange Lane up to Hart Lane

For me, the north/south divide in the town is Hart Lane.

fecks sake - thought that was Naisbury Park or something. All gets too confusing, bring back the old days when Richardson Street wasn;t getting demolished and the A streets were there and me mam could walk from the Murray Street to Grasmere by herself at night cos there was never any trouble and - oh my God - I so badly need a lie down

Naisberry Park is on the opposite side of Elwick Road. Elwick Rise is on the same side of the road as Tunstall school

uh oh
I was born in Stockton, moved to (West) Hartlepool aged eleven months.
My mam is from middlesbrough and my dad is from near Chesterfield, an old mining village called Grassmoor (Grassmore?).
My grandad worked on the gates at Ayresome park for twenty five years and used to let me sneak under when I was a little kid. I supported Boro til aged eleven cos my dad has never liked football and I took my team from my grandad. Eventually I saw sense.
You could say im an alien or you could say I'm a successful convert who could have supported someone else.
Personally I consider myself a hartlepudlian.
