Nick Loughlin just posted this on twitter

Nick Loughlin ‏@loughlinecho

Judging from what Neale Cooper said this morning, don't expect Sky Sports News to be camped outside Victoria Park tomorrow

Doesn't look good

The only signings we are likely to make will be loans, which probably won't happen until the loan window reopens after the 1 week closure.

See what happens tomorrow but if nobody comes in then what was the point of freeing up nishes wages making our squad even thinner. We desperately need some new blood and the more the merrier. Get in now before everybody else fills there boots tomorrow. Personally I'll be very disappointed in ior if we dont add to the squad tomorrow

Loughs comments pretty much closes the door, or window, on us bringing anyone in.

Obviously you cant rule out loans or free transfers as we can get them after the window shuts, but still, it would have been nice too see some new players, especially if its 1 out 1 in.

Out of contract players or loans are our staple diet I believe so the deadline don't have any significance for us

the problem is Nish's loan agreement is only until January so we may then have to pay his wages again until his contract runs out.
this probably limits us to bringing someone in on loan

So we've got rid of 1 of our 4 strikers for nothing, great

Agreed, but it's not wholly without significance. If we wish to use the permanent or loan market to strengthen our side ahead of these two home games we've got coming up, we will need to act before tomorrow night.

Very true, my understanding was that we currently have 2 out of contract players training with us, one of whom featured for the reserves on Wednesday. I would have liked to think that by now Cooper would have decided whether he believes either of these 2 guys can strengthen the squad or not.

So the alternatives are he has not decided, would prefer to wai to see who else may be available once the loan window opens or he is discussing what/if any budget is available.

For sure I think, on the playing side the squad needs a boost and some competition for places, after Coopers blasting of the players after Notts Co it appears the only change was Muz in for Poole and going 5 in midfield, this suggests either he doesn't trust the back up young players at all or he wanted a reaction. Following such a scathing criticism I would have expected more changes for it not to become hollow words to the players each time it happens

I want to know if it is physically a window, and if it is who closes it? Where is this window located is it near the managerial merry-go-round? Is this why we've never scattered Luscombe because he wouldn't fit?

I just don't know , time for a lie down I think.

I thought that there was some kind of wage embargo to do with crowd attendances? something like 60% of gate receipts can be spent on wages, maybe we have reached our limit and can't physically get anyone? Sure Fetish or Mad John might know?

So basically we are into the second year at 65%. Next season goes down to 60%.
We need to get a lot more bums on seats if we want to see all these signings which will take us to the upper reaches of the division!
