Post subject: Probably the the most telling thing today...

Compared to the day Neale Cooper left the club and now was Boydy showing the lovely touch and turn he's always had to get away from the Scunny centre back to get him clean through, then deciding that his best option was to chip the keeper from 40 yards.

I remember him picking up the ball for his second goal against Sheff Wed on that rainy Friday night and finishing like Thompson did for the second goal today.

I'd reckon Mr Cooper realised at that moment he has got a much harder job this time around.

I dont think Boydy has ever been as fast as Thompson was today!

Also, if that chip had went in what would people have been saying? At least we have players now shooting from outside the box and taking a gamble, like monky's goal for example. Fans have been moaning for a while about this and they are right.

What that said to me was why is Boydy dropping that deep to get the ball?

Because the strikers are starved of service from midfield. Our midfield putting the ball forward is absolutely non-existent. It always seems to be played backwards or sideways.

To be fair, we are so poor in virtually every area it's almost pointless singling out individuals.

It's more a general point than singling out Boydy, the touch and turn to get away was about as skillfull as anything we saw from anyone all day. What followed was endemic of everything we have watched for the last three months, a lack of belief, a lack awareness, a lack of end product. He is 29 and didn't believe he had the legs to go one on one with keeper.

I have never known a Pools team with such poor decision making in the final third.
