Don't they only open 2 stands on matchdays now to cut costs?

Its not often the supporters are outnumbered by players is it?

Incidentally Hartlepool FC are playing Darlo in the Durham Challenge Cup this coming Wednesday (4th Jan) at Norton & Stockton's ground with a 7pm ko. We have contacted their office and they say they are still turning up despite the off-field goings on.

Jesus, it must be soul destroying for their players to play in that place.

Anyone else seen this?

Only 300 Gateshead fans there today.
I wonder what the cost would be for them to relocate back to Feethams, surely this is the only alternative.

I really don't get why you're going on like you are. It's like you think we'd have (much) more fans if we were in their position, which is simply nonsense.

Exactly. I expect better from you Phil! Lets not forget your team are struggling to get 4000 with £100 season tickets.
As for the photo, the stands in the picture havent been used this season apart from the Newcastle/Sunderland/Boro friendlies so they are bound to be empty. Had the photgrapher been there for the Newcastle game he would have had plenty people in his photo in a 10000 crowd.

800 more than we usually get through the gates. As for our greatest hour of need, thats rubbish. We could have had 6000 there today and it would only delay the inevitable. The club was a lost cause as soon as ownership of the stadium passed out of the hands of the club.

A team on a 8 home game losing streak ,doesn't need it's season ticket holders disappearing by the thousand either.

A lot of people are very hypocritical on Darlo's crisis.

Personally I don't actively want them to go bust but wouldn't care too much either way.

And I did laugh today when Gatesheads goal went in.....sums things up for them the last 10 years clappp

Lets face it Waldo, if I said black, you'd say white..and two posts in a month is hardly going on about it. I honestly expected 3 or 4 thousand to turn up in their clubs hour of need, and only 2100 did. What's your beef?

I'll be honest and say that I was hoping for around 2500 and I was almost spot on.

The fact that the club has been in the shite for 3 times since we moved to the arena means that goodwill evaporates very quickly. The first time round the town responded in a good way but now the majority couldnt give a stuff because as long as we are at the arena we will end back in the same situation unless a consortium comes along and runs it to break even at whatever level that may be.

If you compare both clubs situations, last season you were struggling for 3000 home fans two leagues higher than us and yet you say 2500 is poor for a game two leagues below? All things considered, the turnout today was not bad.

"not bad" isn't good enough though is it Robbo? It needed to be outstanding, and it was arguably "not bad", arguably terrible.

I've no idea why you've said what you have about you saying black and me saying white.

I've also not said that you have been going on about this matter for any significant length of time. The point I was making was that I don't understand why you are saying what you are about Darlo's crowd. It's as if you're saying our crowd wouldn't be similar if we were in their position, when history suggests it would.

I say this without wanting to appear patronising but I expect you and what I know of you to have a more objective and less bias view.

Other than that, I have no beef with you.

Have to say that there is no way we would be pulling in 2500 at that level. We'd of been around there this season had it not been for the offer.

All things considered, ie 3rd time in the clarts, 2500 is not bad! We've had our outstanding turnout already in GRs administration.

My opinion and the fact that last season more often than not at home we had gates of under 3000. That coupled with us not scoring at home would f driven gates down further still.

What's it to you like?

Now no, if we were in darlos position then probably yes. It's impossible to say either way. You have to remember that we haw sold 6k season tickets and last home game the attendance was around 4k. If that's all we have when people don't even have to pay every week then I don't think anyone can claim that in darlos position we would do any better.

I certainly don't think Pools have fantastic support, however in the same scenario as Darlo we would have I would suggest a lot more than 2100 home fans. Not saying a 6k plus gate but a lot more than them.

We can all suggest what we like as it's all opinion. The main thing to remember from this though is, who actually gives a fuck how many home fans were at darlo on this or any other occasion.

We have over 5000 season ticket holders don't we?

If it was still £18 or £20 on the gate and season tickets had been £300-350 then we would be under 3000 now based on the recent turnouts.

But lets resort to name calling because using common sense is frowned upon here.

Sorry I was agreeing with you.

Just can't get why certain people called you stupid for suggesting it.

We're lucky IOR appear in it for the long haul because I'd not be so sure that we would get 2000 turnout if we were in Darlos situation.

How many fans were at the cup game with Stevenage. That attendance is were we would be at our home games. We had dipped below 3000 before the st deal. In this current economic climate it's hard for people to make every game. We are one of the smallest clubs in the league in a area full of un employment. As long as ior are happy to pay the bills who cares how many fans are at each game and really who cares what happens down the a66. We need a striker, thats were the concerns should be and not at how many people attended a game in the blue square league. Mr cooper will add 2000 on the gate tomorrow and hopefully we can break this ridiculous home hoo-doo and move on.

People tend to forget that in our first administration we got 14000 for the fundraising game. The people turned up then but now its as good as the 3rd administration in 10 years people have just given up. We have a noose around our neck and the town is sick of the bother its caused.

Can't blame the Darlo fans for not bothering - I don#t think I would relish watching football at an over sized Arena if Pools were to move. Times are also hard, can people really justify paying to watch football matches at a club that probably and sadly won't be around for very much longer? It just seems like struggle after struggle down the road....

I believe the 11,000 went looking for the 16,000 Poolies that went to Cardiff.

£100 a season ticket and you scrape 4,000?

Yeah but it's the 3rd major crisis and we've lost our fanbase in the intervening years.

1st administration we had a fundraiser that attracted 14,000 then our first league game after that pulled in 5,700 and we hadn't won for 2 months. 5,700. Gates stayed around 5,000 for the rest of the season and we avoided relegation.

If you ended up in a pile of crap suddenly it'd be the equivalent of our first administration.

Try a potential 3rd administration, be treading water with a 14 man squad in non league, and see how many Poolies still care at that point.

PS there was nearly 2,300 home fans, not 2,100.
