After they were taken off the pitch, one of the stewards was having a big old laugh about it with these two plonkers next to the gate as they were waiting to be thrown out.

Is it just my eye sigh or did a St John's Ambulance person come on to help them out?

And that young steward certainly didn't want to touch them did he?

My mates Dad was one of the people with an altercation with a steward at the end of the match, This is a quote from him from thefootballforum, Where he posts

Quote:
spoke to the stewards after the game, they said they were not allowed to go on the pitch to get those idiots off (club rule apparently ! ).I said to them
that if they had been facing the crowd instead of facing the pitch applauding the goal, then they might not have got onto the pitch

I dont believe that for 1 second though..... Surely not!

So if that is true then either the players or referee would have had to get them off the pitch, or wait for the Poloice to turn up? Seems a bit fishy to me too.

The keeper was never in any danger, I was more angry at the ineffective stewarding.

On that You Tube thingy, start to finish is only twenty seconds. Even the stuffy League would have a hard time calling it a major incident or even an incident of note. They broke the law, they've been arrested, end of. The goalkeeper was more aggressive than they were. He laid hands on them, not vice versa. It's an important point of law.

it's this "failure to control the fans" thing that the FA/FL always throw at clubs though. It's a load of boillox in most cases, as even if there were 200 coppers along the side of ther pitch, anybody determined enough to do something stupid will do it anyway!!!!!

only one thing of any praise yesterday about bostons ground was the stewarding i did not see a bobby in the ground only stewards and SECURITY confised men. the stewards at pools are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, the one in front of us at games just watches the game

A serious overhaul of the way the stewarding is managed, has to be carried out, otherwise the FA will have a field day with the club.Questions need to be asked, what were the stewards doing to allow not only 2 lads onto the pitch, but the length of time it took them to do anything about it.

It must be costing the club a arm and a leg for the stewards and the overmanned police presence.Maybe it is time to employ a profesional company to manage the security/stewarding in the ground. It might be more cost effective in the long run,not only from a financial perspective, but also it would show the FA that we are doing something about it.
