Seriously, some people were more sniffy on the Walsall site.....

You get accused of that on every board, we get it a lot on UTS, but it's because a lot of us know each other personally through going to the nights out, sharing the driving to away games etc. I much prefer these sort of boards where you get the genuine fans and those with a brain

(p.s I feel really left out, don't think anyone told me to f** off) well not on here anyway

Yeah, good point. I'm glad you've signed on, Walsallmom. I'll have a bit of sensible company.

(The reason I've come back is I was just off to Croxdale Folk Club when I discovered in the nick of time that Bert Draycott, the spoons man, was going to be on.
That was a narrow escape)

No, it's just along the road from me ...I live in Durham.
The Folk Club is at the Daleside Arms and, to be sure they seem to serve up nice hearty dinners there, tho I've not actually sampled one myself

That's more like it!

Taxpayer (that's laughable in itself, like), yep we're off to Torquay - on the 7.30 train from Paddington, arrive Torquay 10.57. God knows how we're gonna fill the time until kick off but £25 return was too good to miss. For the record I said nothing about your sexuality (which has been pretty well-documented on here I think) on Rivals.

I'm in the Walthamstow part of east London which, as the loid bloke will tell you, is a dump.

Ee, that's a coinicidence...I used to live in Winns Lane in Walthamstow. I liked it though, especially the market...people from every nation under the sun shopped there

Just read it again and it seems it was Mr Costello who mentioned my sexuality! My humblest apologies.

£25 is class, in hindsight we should have come that way with you lot. isn't it a wonderful thing!

'God knows how we're gonna fill the time until kick off'- I'm struggling to think what you lot will possibly be doing! Enjoy and see you in the Boots and Laces if you're still standing.

grabec - were you up by Lloyd Park then? Don't get me wrong, I like Walthamstow but it is a dump.

Taxpayer - so how are you getting to Torquay then? I note that you didn't make Swindon. I expect we'll have a walk down the se front etc. to pass the time until kick off. You know me, I'm not one for drinking apart from possibly a small sherry at Christmas.

Still not sure how we are getting there yet, should know by today. It's going to be an early start and a late finish but that's as much as I know!

Well, there must have been a veritable Poolie ghetto on Walthamstow, judging by all these ex-pats (including, of course, sarf). Indeed we were near the Park, Piel, tho I'd forgotten all about that until you mentioned it.
I suppose you could say it's a dump but I lke that sort of place :uhoh:

Also it had a great folk club which always seemed to have on someone worth seeing....(I last saw June Tabor there about 15 years ago. Whatever happened to her?)

Poolie ghetto?
I was miles away...Forest Gate, very posh
Got out of there soon as I could. Moved to the lovely southside of London. Lived in Brixton Hill for years. The only part of London I miss is Brixton. The rest can take a running jump

Why, Chip and I were responsible for sending benefit giros to whole of South London at one time. Double somersaults are all very well in their way, but they don't keep the wolf from the door
