....like one does....when there's nowt else on worth watching......and this blokes on giving a verbal tour of the East End with a familiar accent....turns out to have been brought up in the Pool but London born....a writer and broadcaster named Michael Smith......I've never heard of him.......seemed an interesting chap.

"citizen smith" - Couple of years above me at martyrs - listened to kraftwerk and talking heads whilst everyone else listened to hadaway and other rubbish. Nice lad, very clever with it.

Top fella. I'm good mates with Michael.

He's written a couple of books, The Giro Playboy and Shorty Loves Wing Wong, both of which mention Hartlepool a lot (in fact, Shorty Loves Wing Wong is about growing up on the Headland so it's all about Hartlepool)

clappp

Michael is my cousin's lad, and has never lost touch with his Hartlepool roots despite living in St Albans for a large part of his youth. He's a smashing kid, and deserves all the success he is currently enjoying.
