Awful!

Sunderland 5-0 Hartlepool

Simply torn apart by a very young Sunderland side. We had a few players who usually on bench or near first team playing and done nothing infront of Waldsworth.

Rafferty- Looked very nervous all night
Bjornsson- Was playing centre half and getting outjumped by a lad 2 foot smaller than him, to blame for a couple of goals
Gamble- centre mid, give away more fouls then anything else.
Yantorno- Centre mid, did very little
Larkin-Right wing, don't have to say much about his performance except poor
Mackay- Left wing, had decent game when ball was at his feet beat their right back with ease and delivered a number of balls, should of been upfront for me.
Boyd- Touched ball once/twice sure he was took off half time
Behan- Moved from the spot once or twice. Then some 17 year old lad/ very skinny out muscled him and he fell over and started to shout at the linesmen for a penalty :uhoh:

All i can say first team please don't get injured

One plus a young lad called Jordan Richards came on 2nd half played right back and had a decent half!

Maybe they should change it from first team and reserve team to committed Xl and uncommitted Xl.

It's good to hear that Boyd, Bjornson and Behan seem desperate to play for Pools and aren't just here to pick up their wages...!

Everybody refers to these players as dead wood and can't wait to get rid of them, so maybe the players are convinced that they are dead wood ( at least as far as Pools are concerned) and can't wait to go elsewhere. In the meantime they get a nice pay packet for going through the motions.
Let's be honest........ask yourselves who out of that bunch of so called pros would you offer a new contract to.
They know the score and are probably looking as we speak for new clubs, so they ain't gonna die for the cause are they????
The big question they have to face is will they actually get another club.

As an aside from the reserve game......... I wonder if any of the Sunderland youngsters could do a job for us sctatchinghead

So did Boyd not hit the bar and Bjornsson hit the post?

What worries me about Boydy is that I don't think he's played 90 minutes this season for even the reserves, if he has it's not many.

Why? Is it an injury?

Edit; I've just checked, he's played 90 minutes twice this season both reserves games one in November against Boro and the other about a month ago at Horden.

No wonder he looked miles off the pace the other week.

I was well impressed with their no9 Matthew Flecther sure he scored a couple but Bjornsson coudn't stick with him. Also a right winger Craig Lynch very good and centre back Dan Madden, very good young players. But the last 15mins was Hartlepool trying to get the ball back off the kids.
