Just watched the Hudds v Sheff Wed game and thought what chance do we rearly have for promotion when teams like this can pull in loan deals of the like of Kevin Kilbane. On the plus side it shows how good we are by competing and beating these teams but if we could only attract a few big names like this then maybe we could dream of more than the play offs.

It's easy when the likes of the two mentioned who get crowds of 10,000 plus and are able to afford the wages demanded by these players.
Luckily we have a manager who is tactically brilliant who is able to get the most out of our current team.

All we can do is keep playing the way we are and if we could only get the extra fans in the ground then I'm sure IOR would release the purse strings to enable the manager to bring in a couple of quality signings.

Win today and we're above the Wendies and hot the heels of Huddersfield who we just beat. Whoever they get on loan we'll finish above them if we maintain anything close to our current form.

its true what you say loan deals are all about who you know within the so called bigger clubs as to weather you can bring in their players on a loan deal.
Pools have never ever been helped out by Newcastle united or smoggyvill why! nobody knows on here. The only N.E Club who have been helpfull in our times of need is Sunderland AFC and for that they are the only other club i would give my support too if pools are playing away from home and i fancy whatching a match live. so f--k the other two. we look like we need a stand in center half. so we will now see who micks contacts are hopfully he knows some one at man city or united

There are always clubs with bigger resources than us in this division but it hasn't stopped the likes of Southend, Scunny, and Colchester finishing in the top two in the last 5-6 years, or Donny and Scunny winning the play-offs.

Found out the other day that Arsenal send a scout to every match a young player they've loaned out plays, including loans abroad. If clubs are that bothered about younger players we're only going to get them if the club concerned know and trust Mick Wadsworth. Older players are like Kilbane often seem to be shifted on for financial reasons so there is no way we should waste the wage budget competing for them unless we have to. Old or young they often take time to settle in. Ideally you want a settled defence so unless the cover for Collns is proved to be shyte I'd back Wadsworth to work with our own squad, if that doesn't work maybe he can get a centre half version of Kean!

It's 11 v 11...! They could have Tevez, Andy Caroll and Gareth Bale and we would still have a go at them. Let other teams worry about us.... bbolt

Did either of these players actually sign on loan before signing permenantly? Im sure Barron was released by Boro before ever playing for you lot because we were after him as well.

I'm sure that Barron was on loan prior to signing permanently. In fact, I seem to recall that he played in midfield while on loan here (Scarborough away?).

Almost certain that Liddle was never on loan to us though.
