He seems a technically very good footballer but just didn't seem to have the right attitude most of the time, pretty much the same as Adam Boyd who we all know was capable of getting goals in this league. Not sure if players can just become shite without there being some other issues.

Ability but heart the size of a pea.

Would rather have someone with less ability who would give his all than that waster.

Jones has lots of potential, Just needs a good manager to kick him up the a**e and play to his potential. He can be great on his day, as shown at times for us.

Jones was sub last night.
their fans are saying he went into hiding when he eventually got on the pitch and was'nt interested.
he came on in the 75th minute when oldham were 3-0 up, exeter come back and drew 3-3.
jones was good in patches for pools but never consistent enough for the full 90mins, looks like paul dickov is finding the same.
I bet them oldham fans would fancy a swap for paul murray right now.

yeah, dickov has picked him to play 18 times but now has him on the subs bench when all his players are fully fit, bet he wishes he didnt put him on last night.
fair comment from the oldham fans on murray, I imagine he played a more attacking type of midfield role for them, in which case I'm sure he wouldnt have the legs to do that now.
the way wadsworth sets his team accomodates murray perfectly with him just in front of the back four, not too much running around to do and plenty of time to pick out a pass.

Murray covers as much ground as anyone, he's all over the pace.

He doesn't just sit in front of the back four and spray it around though does he? He's probably the most defensive of the three but he does more closing down and tackling than anyone. He works his bollocks off to say he doesn't do much running around is way off the mark.

Was it you suggesting we should release James Brown, that comment is about on par in the most stupid comments stakes.

me saying mick wadsworth plays paul murray in a deeper 'holding' role in midfield compared to when he was younger running box to box is a stupid comment?
give your head a shake.

If you read my comment, I said he plays in a position were he doesnt have to run about 'too' much.
I suppose I could have said he doesnt have to run about 'as' much, but thought it made sense.
BTW I think murray is the best midfield we've had for a good few years, even better than richie jones

I have to say when Jones left (for whatever reason) I thought we had lost a decent player. But having said that I don't think we have missed him as much as I thought we would. The players who have played in midfield have all done well. if we had kept him would we have not been able to sign Murray who has give the back 4 the protection it needed for a couple of seasons.

So keeping Jones or getting Murray. I have to say I'm happy with the latter. Murray's attitude seems a lot better to me as well so as I said Jones is not as much a loss as I expected.
