How do we reckon this is going to affect Pools then?

Will it see more youth players given a chance?

How do we currently comply with regards the number of players in our current squad aged over 21 and the number of "home-grown" players as from reading the link below I don't think our taity eaters qualify.

Also whats wrong with holding the meeting in this country sound like and excuse for a piss up to me,

"But following the meeting of the 72 clubs in Malta, League chiefs will review the punishments for administration to see if they need toughening up"

The biggest impact might be in restricting championship sides to a squad of 25 over 21 year olds. There could be a lot of loan players available to enable clubs to comply or bring in new players into their squads.

That was one of the new rules which jumped out at me. People kept saying last season how we had too many players, quantity over quality, so how does our current squad shape up in relation to the cap of 25?

so that leaves us 6 places for over 21 year old players, hopefully there will be lots of Championship players and ones from large squads in our division we can snap up

We're alright for now. 6 non-"home grown" players in Pools ranks at this time.

The League haven't actually identified whether Scots, Welsh & Nth'n Irish lads are counted as "home grown" but that seems to be the general assumption at this time.

The Sth'n Irish lads do count as non "home grown" it seems.

Our current squad is well within the proposed changes & yes it would seem younger players are in with more of a chance of a first team squad place.

There was talk of new restrictions on the amount of loans but so far this hasn't come about.

Malta- bloody Malta- austerity not hit the footy league boys yet then taz

They could have spent the money they spent on flights on their schools programme rage
