She died of natural causes. I agree the sentence is pathetic. The judge told him he'd probably serve more than the minimum ... I bet he was pissing himself.

I think people are getting confused about minimum sentences again, it's to do with his age I believe.

He's 19, an adult. Having read it a second time, I see what you're getting at about sentence. Do you really think he'll serve longer than "life", the maximum sentence for rape?

19 is not classed as an adult in the prison system. He will not get to an adult jail until he is 21

The assault will certianly have accelerated her death. Elderly victims of crimes such as distraction burglaries frequently pass away shortly afterwards.
