I'm really looking forward to his third appearance for Darlo. After his 34 minute debut back in October, then his strenuous 2 minute showing the other night, apparently he's going for the record in his next jaunt, he's planning to bang his head on the third officials sub board on the way on, and be carried off on a stretcher with concussion......10 seconds max....

Then it's back to panto at Darlo Town Hall Theatre. Yuk, Yuk.

Undoubtedly the Gloids most hilarious signing!

This fellow would have been cheaper, and more effective:

He made one appearance for Dunfermline in 2006. Funnily enough he left the field after 3 minutes. (according to Wikipedia) I wont put link up just a copy and paste.

Whelan stayed in the Scottish Premier League, as he signed a one-year contract with Dunfermline Athletic in July 2006, making his first competitive start on 29 July against Heart of Midlothian in a 2-1 defeat. Unfortunately, he had to leave the field injured after just three minutes. After six months out injured Dunfermline terminated their contract with Whelan by mutual consent on 4 January 2007.

Does that mean he's currently on better money, per minute played, than Rooney?

Shouldn't that be 'pay as you lay'?

I hope he's claiming assistance then, as 36 minutes pay over a 3 month period does'nt stretch far.

Obviously he's on PAYP, but who the hell is vetting these players down there before they get on the pitch? He and the whole Whelan situation is an embarassment Dave, and to me it says a lot about the desperate situation at the W.E.S.

Penney brought the current physio in from Donny. No that I know if hes doing his job right or not but we do seem to pick up alot of injuries. Goughy wasnt the greatest either. As for Whelan, it shows how stuck they were for options when they brought him in. In his half hour at Daggers he looked like he could actually add something to the team. I doubt we'll ever know for sure now!
