Same as my first home (ahem) pc it was an 8088 processor running on MSDOS 3. I miss the good old BBS systems. Mind you, every talked just as much shite on them!

On the original question, I've got a 1TB drive which is just about full.

How about a petabyte drive? thats 1000 TB's or a million GB's. They are already down below £500.

Incidentally, did you realise that your mobile phone has more computing power than Apollo 11?

I think its down to how much of a hoarder you are but I've got 500Gb and 250 Gb both nearly full ( with some of the same data on for backup purposes). Just got a machine with TB in so I'm busy filling it up now but trying to be bit more selective.. having said that I'm sure end up at least half filling before I'm finished!

Therein lies the problem.

If you keep all your important stuff on an external drive it isn't backed up because its still only in one place. Logically if you have a TB drive or whatever then you need two of them.

Mirrored drives are the way to go, 2 x 1tb so if one should fail you still have all your data. On a side note dont use a 1tb drive as your main drive it will be pretty slow.

Oh and you can easily fill them, i back my dvd's and music to them so i can just run them straight through the tv without ever having to put in a dvd.
