...today for the top four teams means it's fairly clear cut as to what we can acheive today.

A defeat, draw, or winning margin of one goal will leave us in 5th place.

A 2-0 win will put us joint fourth, equal to Swindon on every count (but we'll appear before them alphabetically ).

Any other win will leave us in sole fourth position UNLESS....

...we win by seven goals or more, in which case we'll go third!

I think I'll settle for fourth though

How can you not worry about the table? Show me someone who doesn't look at the table after each game. Not something to get 'worried' about yet but its certainly of interest.

Yes,the table is of interest & I do look at it,but until easter Im not really bothered about who wins & loses as long as we keep doing our bit we will be thereabouts.Come Easter there is every possibility that the teams in the mix are not the same teams as now & maybe we shouted for the wrong team in one of todays games.
After Easter is when the run in gets tight & other peoples results & league positions start to matter, for now our own results are the only significant ones.

Good points, but I'd say very slightly off the mark because the current gap between the front runners (ourselves included) and eighth is quite large and the top four are all showing long term consistent form, meaning the leader board is unlikely to change very quickly. It's a good group to be in.
Also Walsall are far enough head of the field that if we can "clutch onto their shirt tails" we're extremely likely to be in the mix when judgement day comes.
There's also the psychological matter of having a position to defend. If we can make it to third we have something to fight to keep hold of.
