Met the guy briefly when he was staying in the same hotel as me once down in Reading. He wasn't that tight as he got a round of drinks in but then he buggered off to bed early at about twelve. Sat with his guys who work for him for a few hours drinking after that though getting steadily drunk and one of them who was from Hartlepool got me free tickets for his gig the following night, which was nice.

He was funny the first time I heard him back in the 80's when I was younger but it's the same old thing every time.

You only need to hear Chubby Brown once for about ten minutes, after that it stops being funny.

He has found a niche and milks it nicely .... good luck to him. While his heyday was the early 80's and the songs are abysmal, he's no worse than some of the PC comic 'GIANTS' the media enthuse about.
It would be a funny old world if we all liked the same thing.

Apart from an incident with a bucket of piss, it was glorious.

Saw him once for a 20p cover charge in the Belle Vue Club, probably mid 70's, it was excellent value for money. I haven't seen him since, has he done alright for himself since then?

Seen Chubby once in Billingham about 3 years ago. One hour seemed short but looking back it was enough. Just the same repetitive jokes with either a different person or place added.

You cant knock the bloke for what hes achieved, ive read his autobiography too and EAD about sums him up.
