I cant put my finger on it? To me at home were losing the game in midfield but away from home i would have thought that would be even more so.

Chip-whats going on?

the midfield repeatedly came short and got the ball from the defenders last night, passed and moved, turned, made runs and worked the ball around on the floor. When the opportunity arose to play it upfield quickly to the forwards when the chance of a breakaway was on, they did that at the right times too.
If the question is why we don't do that at home - the answer is I have no idea!!!

My theory is that the Vic pitch is too narrow, especially now we have proper wide players. This restricts attacking passing play when we're at home resulting in long hopeful (maybe hopeless is a better word) balls to forwards often by-passing the midfield.
As I say just my theory, but when we've had decent wingers in the past, I'm sure the pitch was wider, e.g. the Dalton era up until Paul Smith.

Away from home, we are under no pressure at all. We can sit back and stay tight and hope to score.

At home the onus is on us to attack at will, coupled with the extra pressure on them to impress then maybe they are a little uncomfortable playing at home. They need to settle and concentrate on being hard to beat.

My theory is :

Charlton - were too good for us.
Bristol Rovers - we should have got at least a draw.
Burnley - see Bristol Rovers.
Norwich - off day and looked knackered.

Having seen all the games so far this season, my opinion would be that we are a workmanlike side who, have been well organised away from home, coupled with the fact that it's the home teams responsibility to "attack" means our aim is to keep it tight till possibly half time and hope to snatch a chance to break and maybe get the goal to win 1-0.

No disrespect to any of the players, meant here, but we dont have a creative midfielder who can open up the away teams defence when we're at home, resulting in them doing to us what we have done so far away from home this season. If we did then it could be totally different at home.

The alternative, which people on here wont like is to set our stall out at home in exactly the same way as we have so far in the away games. Not pretty but effective.

'No disrespect to any of the players, meant here, but we dont have a creative midfielder who can open up the away teams defence'. If this is the case then I really think it's time for Jonny Rowell to start featuring more.

I wont disagree with that in any way shape or form. It definetely an option. Though my previous post was in reply to why we not done it so far at home.
