Pools were superb in every department last night, a lot of praise has already been given to Sam Collins but I'd just like to mention Gary Liddle who has never been one of my favourite players, but last night he looked absolute class. Also last night some of the passing football we played was electryfying and if we can produce some of that in league games we will torture some of the teams coming to the Vic, that football had the crowd going last night, something thats been missing for a long, long time.
Well done Pools.

I dunno if Liddle & Collins is Turner's favoured centre back pairing but it's clear already that it'll work so much better than Nelson & Collins. Liddle's pace and technique complement Sam's attributes well and I think we'll concede a lot fewer goals this season.
