You are a referee aren't you?

A quick question for you, towards the end of the match their big Spanish centre half required the physio to come on, they then decided to subtistute him and the ref allowed this to take place straight away, surely the sub should stay on the sideline while the game restarts and then wait for the referee to wave him on, if they had not subbed him the Spanish fella would have had to do this. Is there no rule saying the sub has to stay off the field?

Although i can totally see your point there is no problem with what the referee did yesterday. The law just states that a player receiving treatment must leave the field of play after his treatment is concluded before being allowed to play on. If he isn't playing on then there is no reason to make him stand there! But then what do i know!
