Not as hot as Peterboro in 2003, but still warm. Turner got the team right today as in the heat you cannot give Boydy a game and Browny a start.

In truth we had 2 chances McSweeneyfirst half where the ball did not fall for him and a Behan air shot when he should have hammered it into the net or Row J!

In truth we were organised and workmanlike. It may be the first and last time I say this, but a point earned by players and coaching staff with an unlikely MoM given the heat. Ratings

Flinders 7 Good handling and distribution with an excellent save from a free kick 2nd half.
Haslam 6 Solid nowt flash but disciplined and positional sense good
Collins 9 MoM I am never a fan of his, but fair play to him he won every header, some tackles and only one mistake where he got turned first half and his lunge could have cost a pen. Commanding performance and did not get stretch in the heat. Mainly due to a lightweight Easter.
Liddle 7 OK I am a big fan, but was mobile and coped well with the heat sweeping behind Collins with some good stops. 1 mistqke all game cost him a ‘professional’ foul card. 1 sublime 2nd half pass.
Hartley 5 Struggled in the air to clear, solid positional sense he will need encouragement not criticism at home. Please lets get behind him.
Jones 5 Worked hard, but wide on the right not his best position, but made us compact by tucking in.
Friedrickson or however you spell it 7 Watch this space my new cult hero. Not fast and some fans will get frustrated by the fact that he wants time on the ball & at times he will get caught in possession, but the reason for him wanting time was what we saw in the corner flag on 90 mins showboating. He wants to get the ball down and play a pass. We will only get the best out of him if wide left Monky and Wide right stay wide then he can pick people out.
Sweeney 6 No one worked harder, his best work will surprise people---- tracked back got interceptions in and did well with a couple of forward runs.
Monky 5 Worked hard little end product, but can read the runs of Browny and got us many deadball situations. Did enough.
McSweeney 7 Really impressed this boy will run through a brick wall. Twisting and good runs in between full backs and centre backs. Looks a good signing played a more advanced role than I expected, but good tactic by Tubby as his pace on a hot day had the 2 central defenders worried.
Behan 5 Maybe generous as I am not a fan of big boys up front, but give him his due he worked hard, backed in and punted the ball wide rather than lay offs. I will support him, but he tired badly the club will have to work on his vision of where team mates are and shooting. He cannot look to beast it, good players pass it into the net!

Browny 6 Movement into space showed his potential today.

Summary.
Maybe today we learned something. Behan away from home as the one real striker and at home he stands down for Browny. We are going to be nowt flash but 12 months ago we purred over a 4-2 win against Col U with Richie & Boland rolling back the years – today Collins did that and hopefully Tubby & Westy will learn 2 banks of 4 away from home makes you hard to break down. By the way, Flinders is a real keeper and in my view has potential back him!
