Haven't got the foggiest. I know a bloke called Mike Frankland who might have an idea though. Hope that helps.

You may be able to get a Mexican built Fender Telecaster for around that price. I've got one (not for sale!) and it's got a great action, sound and is versatile for most types of music.
I'd always advise buying a 'big name' guitar as they not only hold their value but usually increase in value over time. Squier are made by Fender but don't have the same resale value or, in my opinion, as good an action - that's why I'd go for a genuine Fender.
May be worth looking on ebay or going to your nearest 'Cash Converters'.

Good luck in your search.

Only mentioned Cash Converters as I saw a Fender Stratocaster in good condition for £299 fairly recently (gone now), quite a bargain I thought at the time.

As Chip says it's a buyers market due to the recession.

cash converters normally very overpriced imho, normally much better off buying privately or from a guitar shop. there used to be a canny shop in newcastle but im not sure if its still there, my brother got a really good bass guitar there in the 80's that he still uses now.

with the recession pretty sure its a buyers market at the moment.

like hawklord says much better in the long term to buy a good guitar, even if its second hand than a new one, and have someone who knows there stuff with you when you do so. the esablished names have been around a long time for a reason : they make good guitars.

id also suggest that you factor in what type of music you want to play on it . horses for courses and all that.

cheers chip that was very helpfull

That's what I was going to say. I have a Mexican Telecaster too and it's great.
