...meaning the back five that I presume will start against MK Dons doesn't fill me with that much confidence. I really hope Turner brings a centre half and a left back in the next two weeks (ideally early next week so they can get some games under their belt ready for the new season).

He's apparently looking at Liddle as centre back with Hartley. I still don't know what liddles best position is, does he have one sctatchinghead

Liddle is a good utility squad player but he's definitely not good enough to be a League 1 regular.

He's not impressed me in midfield nor at right back last season so perhaps this is his last chance to impress. I wouldn't care he looked flucking class when he first came to the club.

It was League 2, you can file him next to Nelson and Monkhouse who were world beaters at League 2 but are totally ordinary in League 1.
