Two very pertinent questions Mr Paying. Stuart Gibson must be wetting himself all the way to the bank. Downing makes Tommy Butler look like an incisive dual wing maestro.

There's more chance of that happening in our lifetime than Bore-o getting to Europe. Mind, Mussolini was serving on in Joe Riggatoni's the other day.

What are you on about, the Boro losing 4-0 is one of the worst European finals you've ever seen?

I loved every minute of it, men against boys.

On the one hand, I was pleased to see them lose, but I reckon it was one of the worst finals I've ever seen because it was even a contest.

Boro up until the final had made comeback after comeback, then they played Seville and seemed not to come out of the dressing room. Seville were all over them.

From a Boro point of view it must have been pretty humiliating to go out and there and see their team play as badly as they did that day - and they were under McClaren at the time as well !

The day before that match, I was flying out of Teesside Airport at 7 in the morning and spent two bastid hours surrounded by borer fans. They were full of themselves and to add insult to injury was picked out by customs, who proceeded to check my pockets, my wallet and even my shoes beside the usual frisking ...I eventually asked if this was necessary ... I was asked why I wasn't wearing a borer shirt or anything 'celebrating' the team .... "because I'm not a borer supporter and going nowhere near their shitty final, that's why!" ...end of search.

Downing is very over rated, he has been a slightly large fish in a tiny pond for a while.

Most boro fans i know rate Johnson more than him and are delighted to get £12million for him.

He has a left foot, thats it.

I said that to Borer supporter at work the other day all I got back was the same old drivel about Martin O Neill, Steve Maclaren etc etc knowing more about football than me so he must be a good player as they have all rated him
