I don't understand something and it bugs me, perhaps someone can explain? This constant bullying, harrassment and abuse of POK over every thing he posts, why? He is nearly always good humoured, polite and pleasant. I can't remember him abusing anyone yet he is sickeningly verbally attacked and abused for absolutely anything at all. I can't find anything offensive in his posts yet people react like a hysterical lynch mob at the mere sight of one of his posts and the behaviour of some towards him is embarrasing. Is it because he is non threatening and perhaps sometimes naive that you feel the need to try to belittle him by abuse? the obvious traits of the school bully. Perhaps its to prevent other posters from turning their critical eye on you that turns an adult into a hysterical shrieking agitator highlighting anything that could be used as a weapon to beat him up with, knowing full well you are safe from any form of reprimand? the obvious traits of the coward.

There are plenty of people on here who are fierce with their craik and a sharp enough to spot a mistake and exploit it mercilessly to the enjoymet of others and the embarrassment of the original poster and I am leaving myself wide open to them by posting this  but that is one of the brilliant things about the Bunker because it very rarely lasts and in such a community as this there will always be people falling out like me and Chip and Chip and me and Chip  yet we get over it and are not waiting to pounce on each others very next post. We have even been known to agree

It makes sad reading
sadx

Oh and to save you all the bother
therethere violin sadx yawn2   sctatchinghead therethere violin yawn2 yawn1 stpid sadx violin therethere
now wheres that winker smiley

oh
The beauty of the bunker is the randomness of its posts and craik of the posters. The beast is the other bit

Cant I just point out a post I made yesterday and havent responded to one of PoK posts since then

"Cant I just say I have been one of the key people in replying to his blinkered thoughts that manifest into utter drivel and bollocks on here and allowing threads to carry on for ages, I will be from now taking all his comments with a pinch of salt and not going to bother replying to them anymore.

Flogging a dead horse comes to mind."

If someone puts there opinion on here, (or in his case, the opinion of the bbc) then they put themselves in the firing line to be shot down if it's totally insane.

This is a messageboard, for views to be discussed.

If everyone on here starts being all nice to each other and it turns into the bunker love in then it would be shit.

And whats wrong with love ins like?

Original bunkerites like PoolieKev and Cornelius thrived on the love ins.

I do not base my opinion solely on what the BBC said. I make my own mind up according to the evidence that I see.

I believe it would more democratic talking on here if people respected other people's opinions on here, which then means we could have a civilised, sensible, balanced debate on a range of issues without some members on here acting rudely towards other members.

He doesn’t win at all he just digs himself further into the idiot hole with every comment he makes, I am not disputing his academic knowledge which is clearly good due to him going to university, however world knowledge and common sense is another thing.

Yubep, where did I say that your opinions were wrong?

I do not mind somebody having an opposing view, all I want to be able to do is to be able to know why you have certain views on certain things, and maybe then if I disagree that that shouldn't be the case, then I might attempt to persuade you to my way of thinking.

Yes he has.

You dont have to agree with his opinions, but at least he has some.

The most hassle you get on here is people saying your opinion is a load of old tosh, and basically proving this.

So the comment above is you basically saying our opinions are wrong

No, no I'm not saying your opinions are wrong, it's just the way in which you argue whatever point of view isn't the right way to go about it.

Interesting point, Dugout. It's fairly obvious in some cases that people are using Kent-bashing to prove their... ahem... credentials to their friends. Don't worry, Mr Kent, (not that you will!).. they could have chosen many another poster for the same purpose.

The reason they pick on POK is because he is over 200 miles away and they are not very likely to bump into him so they are safe to bully the kid from behind there computer.

I like POK and think he is very witty and has not got a nasty bone him in and like i have said before i always have a picture of him looking like Charles Hawtrey but now i think he might be like the lad off the Inbetweeners.

Its easy for some posters to follow the leader into things making them feel part of it and hoping its not them next time.

I do some work for a woman who has a Cocker Spaniel called Monty. Monty is always very excited to see anyone who turns up (he's not very selective) and comes and jumps up so as you do, I give him a bit of a pat and Monty gets even more excited.

After a few minutes it's time to start work so I try to walk away from Monty who by this time is somewhat hysterical and as I'm trying to get started there he is pestering and demanding attention. By this time I'm thinking, 'Eyup Monty you're not the friendly little dog I thought you were in fact you're overdoing things and you're becoming a bit of a nuisance'.

My next tactic is to try to ignore the little bleeder but will Monty have any of it, he's pawing away, rolling on his back, running around getting under my feet and is trying so hard to attract attention that he's stopping me working and has become a real pain and by this time I'm tempted to give Monty a kick up the arse.

This obviously wouldn't make the woman who owns Monty very happy so I just console myself with the thought that when she first got Monty she had him castrated.

Well, my answer is : read what I said, which was 'in some cases'.

What I took Paddy to be saying is that the Bunker is a fairly aggressive environment and some people are anxious to prove that they belong, and avoid having their own posts 'picked on' .
Part of that is casting someone else in the role of the 'outsider'. I don't think there's much doubt that Mr Kent is 'picked on' whatever he says....even when he's saying things that his detractors wouldn't dream of criticising if an 'established' board member said them.

I was born the year Germany reunified, Thatcher left No 10 and Gazza cried - 1990.

"Get Ready For This" was released the first year 'Pools got promoted in my lifetime - 1991.

I may have been too young to remember our promotion and the record being released but I heard it so many times growing up during my childhood in the 90s that I can instantly recognise it.

Well, since you seem not to have read the preceding thread I can tell you that several established board members have come out in favour of Mr Kent's posts, and I wouldn't mind betting that at least one or two of them are getting very sick of reading about this obsession of yours, Yubep. So, prepare for any repetitive posts to be deleted.

I may be one of the posters, dugout is on about. But I refute the point I'm bullying POK.

He leaves himself open to being "shot down " in my opinion because he appears in my opinion to post without thinking at time. A post further down was entitled "two future signings" and a joke reply was posted stating they were Fray and Bentos from Brazil . I pointed out that Fray Bentos was Uruguyain making a joke that they if from Brazil they would be Campo and Grand (a town in Brazil) POK's reply 2 Americans called Crosse and Blackwell ( which everyone knows is English), which as someone else pointed out simply ruined the thread. It added nothing to the post (Ok people may say my postings add nothing to a thread). But his post IMHO was simply him wanting to be noticed. And leaving himself open to my then reply.

I have nothing against him and certainly don't consider that I bully him, I have had a go at other poster's and had poster's have a go at me, it's banter, not bullying , but with just a little thought POK could actually stop it by giving his postings some thought.

I'm willing to retract my go at him, on the "two future signings" thread if he can explain why he chose Crosse and Blackwell and had them as Americans.

Was it to attempt to be funny ?

Was it to bring attention to himself by showing his intelligence(in this case it was wrong) ?

What was the point of that posting?

I may well have missed something in history along the way. And maybe Crosse and Blackwell were in fact immigrants and not English.

I did not write that reply simply to be noticed. It was supposed to be an attempt to be witty along the lines that you had already setup.

As far as I'm concerned, the thread has now been forgotten about.

Can I just say that PoK is an estbalished board member more so than myself or Yubep just look at the number of posts he has made

Fetish, surely most of us don't think very much about our posts, most of the time? Sometimes posts are funny, sometimes they're a bit dismal. Very often other people's less successful posts are overlooked, whereas Mr Kent's never are.

Compo, by 'established' poster, I mean (of course) one who is a member of the establishment. I can think of quite a number of such posters who can say what they like and be greeted rapturously, just because they're 'in'.

Can't we just get over all this and give Kent a break?

I have and since this all came out I have held my hands up as one of the people who have gave him a bad time. I also have said that although sometime he is an idiot this is generally misguided and unintentional as he is a young lad who clearly is bright but sometimes as we all did when we were younger doesn’t look before he leaps.
