It's the same here in Leeds. They they should install less speed cameras and put red light camers at traffic lights instead.

I think i've only ever seen one 'red light jump camera' and thats on the way out of hartlepool near greatham(?) A689.
I used to do it a lot on my 125cc ped because it was too light to trigger the sensors in the ground and i would have been waiting there for hours (or waiting for another car to pull up behind).

If my memory right as well, it is going, there was a piece in the mail many years ago about that camera, it didn't have any film in it. Don't take my word for it and risk it though, it may have now.

The lights where Church street crosses over the 689 towards morrisons are terrible for "red gamblers".

Cyclists = Bigger bounders, FACT!!!!

Up on the pavement, down to the road, driving against traffic, they also jump traffic lights, no lights at the back or front and so on and so forth....

If you want to use the road, get insurance like I have to

I've been saying this for years. They should put cameras on lights. They'd make a fortune which would lighten the tax burden for those who have common sense.

They should also fine the feck out of people who...

haven't got a clue at roundabouts.
haven't got a clue at crossroads.
speed past schools.
ride bikes on pavements when they come to traffic lights
don't stop at zebra crossings.

Give me the form and i'll sign it.

there are many designated cycle "bump-up" points to facilitate safe crossing at traffic lights/roundabouts/junctions etc. They are clearly marked and I use them. If anyone who's ever rode a bike in heavy traffic will tell you, it's for everyone's safety that they are there.

fair dos. I'm happy with that. I've lost count with the amount of times i've seen cyclists actually cut right across the middle of a crossroads when the green man is on though. Road safety completely goes out of the window.

The same can be said of pedestrians. I've also lost count of the times i've nearly knocked someone over when they haven't bothered to look when crossing the road. Strangely enough, the worst offenders are old people who should really know better.

Serious question, do they still teach road safety and cycling proficiency in schools?

old biddies who choose to walk across a busy road at about 0.0001mph but opt against using the crossing which is only a matter of meters away. banghead banghead banghead

Oh and the amount of young mums who push their children/babies in a pushchair onto the road when there are cars flying around almost using the buggy as a shield for themself. banghead banghead banghead

DAMNED BOUNDERS THE LOT OF 'EM

I woke up this morning as a Driver and a Cylist.
I read this thread and find that I was wrong and that I am in fact a Kunt and a Bounder. rolfl
