Over the headland / central way:

http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/news/Co ... 5400777.jp

I have to say am I the only person who has never heard of this "dust" over in that area every time I have been to the headland its been blowing a gale so the stuff should be blow away.

Also they are doing themselves no favours going to the papers they are highlighting a problem that noone really knew about and so they could have moved out of the area easily

My mate moved there a few years ago, he should know better as he's from a decent part of town, he has now been fully "headlanised", he thinks the sun revolves around that fooking place, he gets a hardon at the headland carnival and goes the social club every friday night.

It's too late for him now, he's a gonner.

Christ it's june, they'll all be getting there floats ready for the carney in august.

Allegedly Heerema previously paid out to residents a few years ago when dust was flying about on a job.

Hadn't really thought about it, but when I've walked around the Headland on a windy days, I've seen clouds of stuff being blown up from the sand, something that didn't used to happen.

(About the other thing...whatever you say about Hartlepool as it is to-day, the place is engraved on the hearts of its exiles.
If the Bunker is anything to go by, the oldie members spend at least half their time thinking about it, and the Headland is one of the magical areas, for me.)

Have to agree I love my town, like everyone on here we are allowed to slag it off but if anyone else does you would argue with them all night. Magical the headland I sort of agree with you on that point as being "from west" i never used to go there a lot but learnt loads about the place, ie the fish sands, the old baths etc from my uncle, also its full of people that look like magical dwarfs, and hobgoblins

I used to be a postie on the walk that went from Moor Parade to Albion Terrace.
Best job I ever had*. I actually looked forward to getting up at 5 o'clock to do it!

*worst paid like
