There will be local boys clubs invited to be a part of the set up using all the facilities and and bringing the youngsters though from an early age to 19.

Great stuff. I wonder if the current Brinkburn Junior FC are part of this?

They have teams from aged 8 to 16. And train and play at Brinkburn currently.

I'll be coaching the C team. They didn't win a game last season so hopefully next year will see some sort of improvement. I've already got a couple of the former Pools lads coming along to do a bit of training. The Football Academy sounds brilliant, Brinky has always had a good football team (I captained it back in 2005) and this will only help the standard of football in the town.

Kev, I'll have to pop over for a cuppa some time soon, greet my new colleague

Association football at Brinkburn! We'd have been shipped to a prison colony if we even thought about it in my schooldays.

Too right, we had a couple of new young teachers came along and started organising a game after school some evenings. They lasted about ten more minutes after that.

Mouldy

Do you know why the football goal posts are still up, and the goalmouths not reseeded?

Gonna be a dodgy pitch next season that one.

Possibly. With playing for two sides and running a side and teaching I'll be snowed under. I'll try and make the odd appearance if I can.

Hopefully this season we can do the business. They're putting together a good squad, it all depends on whether they can keep it together.
