Although it will be made up of ONLY English Players...

Cue.. Scots, Irish and Welsh complaining about bias... (how many of their players would get in anyway)

The words 'blind eye' were used on the telly to describe the Scootish, Northern Irish and Welsh FA's attitude... so can we presume they just aint taking part, but don't mind if England do under the GB badge ...?

See not having Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland contribute to the side defeats the object of having a GB Olympic squad.

But it's only right that there should be some sort of representation from this country at the Olympics.

Team GB would make an absolute killing if they sold replica kit as official merchandise in three years time.

Oh I totally agree there with what Jeff is trying to say there. Having that "Team" prefix is all part of the corporate business philosophy that's come in since sport became more professional in the last few years.

The philosophy is: Act like a business and act professsionally in the modern world and you'll succeed.

Now because really does sound qute American, it maybe doewsn't seem the best name for the British team, but they've used it for God knows how long and its brought success.

I guess some people wonder: why call ourselves at Great Britain at the Olympics when the proper diplomatic name this country has at international events, summits etc is
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - but it seems we've used Great Britain at the Olympics since 1908 so the name's just stuck, the main thing is people recognise the Union Jack being raised and God Save The Queen playing when we've won gold, people know its us anyway.

I had £20 on @ 1/100 that you'd post that.

I'll scan the betting slip later
