never forget the goal that secured promotion at Wycombe with a typical header towards the floor and the ball bounced in the net to see the masses of poolies wild

There was only 1 Sir Richard of Barker

That is an absolute shame. We went to Wycombe that day and I see him saw an amazing goal that I will never forget. We saw him outside the Gills after Rotherham had just played them, about to get the coach home, and he was a great bloke. clappp clappp clappp

I hope he decides to take up coaching.

Great Player, lovely bloke and made an unforgettable contribution to our recent history. I'd LOVE another Ritchie Barker.

we'd have been clear of the drop a lot earlier this season if barker was coming on for the last 15 minutes, rather than dead-eye mackay

Barker did a job for Pools but 18 goals in 170 games for rotherham isn't very good is it?

Good honest player though.....

What does 'honest' mean when relating to a football player?

Cliché tastic mannnnnnnnnn

Honest (adj.) 1. the quality of always giving every ounce of effort of which you are capable irrespective of how the game is going
2. the opposite of Kyle

Not a cliche - an entirely appropriate description of Ritchie Barker - up there with Knowles for me. Never once walked off the pitch having given less than his best.

Is that really the dictionary description of honest?

I liked Barker, but this 'honesty' bollocks is bollocks

Always liked Richie, sorry to hear he is retiring.

Not his best goal but that one where he turned at Stockport to make it 3-3 will always be in my memory.

No it's not, it's the opposite of players who are frauds. Like Robbie Elliott, Kevin Kyle and Ian Moore.

Even though sometimes his best wasn't good enough in league 1, he was still a very good player to have in the squad. (puts tin hat on for mouldy's love in) bbolt

Best of luck ritchie!
