Which opposition players have impressed you this season....

Strangely Two Stockport players have really impressed me:

1. Owain Fôn Williams - He was unbelivable at our place and made some crucial saves.
2. Tommy Rowe- He looks like a quality talent.

Boyd of Posh was about the only one, though he didn't turn it on for the full 90. (Remember I haven't seen that many games.)

As per usual, the ginger left back Lewington of MK Dons. I'd love him to play for Pools.

Dude who played for Southend. Think he was on loan from West Ham. His name escapes me. We won, but he looked flip-hot!

I think Snodgrass for leeds has been a good player..IF only he signed for us

Everytime i watch the highlights he seem to be the one creating the goals for leeds, hope he is not playing today!

I was waiting for the inevitable Lewington

At least he did play well against us this time. Never has someone's reputation been so out of sync with his performances against us. He's had some bloody shockers. But yes, he had a decent game at the Vic, though not as good as a couple of his teammates, Leven in particular.

Was obviously impressed with Simon Cox. I though Charlie Lee was cracking for Posh in the game at the Vic. Ainsworth caused us all sorts of problems at Hereford, as did Davies in his short sub appearance at Oldham (thank god he didn't start the game!) I was impressed with Chris Taylor in that game as well. Then there's the obvious sprinkling of Leicester and Leicester reserve players. King stood out, as did the big fella as usual.

But the frustrating thing about this season is that, when we've lost, it has generally not been because opposition players have been outstanding against us.

While thinking about this I've also realised just how many games I've missed this season. I think I've only been to 29 of the 44 league games   :uhoh: :uhoh:

Of the people mentioned in this thread only Lewington, and George Boyd of Posh, are named in the League One team of the season.

I saw the Crewe game and thought the difference was the No 10 Calvin Zola who was a good player. When everyone was keeping the ball in the the air he was the one who brought it down and started attacks. Looking at their position they were better than I expected.

Aren't there any Pools players in it? That's a bloody disgrace!

I just had a look at div 4 'cos I had no idea how the loids had finished.

But what struck me most was that in their division, our 50 points would have left us outside the bottom four with a bit to spare. Even if you gave the three penalised clubs all their points back, 50 points would be guaranteed at 6th bottom or higher.
Strangely enough the top position points aren't that high either. Weird season.
