The West stand at Darlington FC was closed to stop a growing sense of shame.

The club was placed into administration on Feb 25th, weeks after bosses said they needed to downsize due to falling attendances.

The £20 million stadium has a 25,000 capacity but the average home gate is a pitiful 2,995.

A spokesperson said it was an attempt to improve the atmosphere at games ,save money, and stop us looking like rarfs.

The Quakers have struggled in recent years to compete with their larger neighbours, Hartlepool United , who now look certain to complete 10 whole seasons of uncontested superiority.

The timing of the administration was a blow to the long suffering Darlo' fans, who had to cancel a planned party to celebrate seven and half years since there last derby victory.

I got that in an email, a mate had changed an actual BBC news report on the net to read that , but I cant get it on here. If anyone knows how to I will email them it, even has a picture of the arena.
