You think you have seen a shite referee until the next one rolls into town.

He appears to believe football is a non contact sport were if you mistime a challenge it is an immediate yellow yard. The bookings for Monkhouse and Kavanagh tonight were an absolute joke. Football is non longer a mans game because of not nice people like Atkinson.

As bad as that cheat we had against Mk Dons.

This from a full time Premiership referee.

For those who can remember he was the referee who failed to give the penalty on Sweeney in the 2nd leg play off at Tranmere in 2005.

Did you really expect any better???

Our referee was shite last night too. Giving bookings out for players kicking the ball to their player so he could take a free kick in the right place, and letting much worse stuff fo unpunished. The referring standard in the English game is a joke. The FA are paying the price for fast tracking too many inept referees.

Professional referees were supposed to improve the standards. All it has done is give referees a small slice of the Premiership money for themselves. The standards are no better than they were 20 years ago.

The ref was clueless but I have to say that the linesman on the CK side was excellent, a good few times he put the referee right last night. At first you cant help but wonder whether he has been employed to introduce different ethnicities into the officials roles (a la Uriah rennie) but he was one of the few linesman who dared intervene clappp

He called him a Mickey Mouse ref. I reminded him of this every time he came within earshot.

meant to post that as well. mr matadar was excellent, and probably the only linesman i can EVER remember at Pools worthy of any praise whatsoever. he actually played advantage twice because he knew atkinson was shyte (probably).

Absolutely, good point, peoples perception of what warrants a booking has changed.

Your not wrong. Why only on saturday poolies were demanding that Carlton Cole was the dirtiest player ever to walk the face of gods earth, yet Matty Robsons "challenge" last night was just mis-timed. Tis' a a funny owld game saint.
