wasn't he the ref who sent jack ross off in the cup match at the vic with brentford a few years ago - and it was the fastest ever recinded red card - so he had another go at Ross afew weeks later at Stockport. sure this is the same one

Dunno if it was the fastest ever recinded red card, Daly's vs. Chester was quicker I think. But you are correct on the other counts.

Well, despite one or two factual errors about Hartlepool, I thought the commentary was remarkably uncondescending, nowhere near as insulting as the commentary on Southend's replay against Chelsea for example.
The commentators spoke as though they were expecting more from Pools, much as if they were criticising a Premiership side. The main talker said repeatedly that we needed just that extra bit of quality and he was damnned right. He refrained from using clichés like "overachieving", "giving the Privilegedship giants a run for their money", or "brave performance".

I reckon anyone who complains about Saturday's commentary has a bit of an persecution complex to be honest.
