Leeds away has been made Category A, so we will have to fork out £27.

Is our reputation still that bad to warrant the game again being classed as a category A? I know the clubs act on police advice but l have never seen any problems when Hpool play Leeds

Why bother going, I think a draw is the best we can hope for.
Leeds is not a pleasant place to visit as an away fan, I'll be giving it a miss

i love pools and its our nearest away game, but im not going on principle.

there comes a time when you have to draw a line in the sand.

its not as if pools will see any of the money. id rather spend the money on xmas presents from the club shop.

I'm leaning towards concurrence.

That's a piss take almost thirty pounds to watch third tier football, and the only reason is because we sold 3,000 tickets last year and probably could have sold more. The robbing bastards.

Last year was a rip off at £25, but now I've seen Pools play at Elland Road.

No wonder the Monetary Policy Committee can't reduce interest rates with inflation running at 8%.

they will charge that as long as people are prepared to pay it. the only way fans can effect change is by voting with their feet.

Concurring again.

To pay those prices you must be very rich or very stupid.

So where shall we meet up for a pint before kick off?

As long as people keep paying the price, they'll keep squeezing the money out of you.

If I'd didn't live a couple of bus rides away from the stadium...I'd save my money and go to a nice friendly ground like Leyton Orient and pay a little more on the trains rather than get ripped off by Leeds.

To be honest the atmosphere before and after the match was hostile to say the least.

Before the match I was on one of those shuttle buses and I witnessed a complete and utter twat of a man (and I mean twat, a real low life scumbag, complete pratt, the kind of tosser this world would be better off without, a real kunt, I mean a real total twat) do a cut throat sign to two young Hartlepool fans (about 8 or 9ish) as one of the supporter's buses passed our shuttle bus. Amongst some very hostile words. I dont know why they were so offended by little old Hartlepool going to their stadium.

I know it's only a minority blah blah blah but some of the pratts I witnessed that day really did taint my view of the club.

All that aside....to be fair, I met a lot of decent Leeds fans in the first half of our last reserve game against them. So they're not all bad.

But £27 for a repeat of the experience many of us last time, does it seem worth it? If it wasn't my nearest match of the season (home and away) then I'd be very borderline.

plus Pools won't have gotten rid of their big ground/big crowd stagefright - we'll lose there without a shadow. I'll be glad when that game's out of the way and we can concentrate on winning the other away games.
Before anyone says it's defeatist - yes it is but Mad John's stats about Pools in front of big crowds tells a shocking story - not a single, solitary win in front of any crowds of more than 20,000 people in 100 years. It's not gonna change at Leeds.
