I've just read the Rochdale board, most of them reckon it was what we imagined it to be. A shite match between two VERY shite teams.

On the day it was.

But the conditions especailly in the second half where as bad as you are likely to see, it was almost impossible to play football in that wind and rain.

It was the worst game i've ever seen though.

Our back four where solid (again) Willie Boland had a good game (he's good steady player) other than that nobody shone really. Matty Robson had a mare.

Rochdale are really, really bad though if we don't beat them well in the replay something really is wrong.

i "played" up at sunderland this morning and any attempt at football was pointless. if the weather at rochdale was even remotely similar i feel sorry for all involved.

any pools fan in the current climate ( no pun intended) would have taken a draw this morning. a replay means we is in the hat and a bit more cash through the turnstiles.

We were there and we would have taken a draw at half time :sweet:

30 minute walk home to the train station in that bloody weather, horrible. Then to rub salt into the wound, the train home was 30 mins late.

Niether team had a cutting edge. We created a few 1/4 chances, I was gobsmacked when we scored.

Rochdale were really poor and we really should be looking to turn over these teams quite comfortably. Rochdale's goal was due to us not marking/closing down a player and letting him have an easy shot on goal. At the end Rochdale almost snatched it and how their striker missed I do not know.

Anyway, a plus point is that our back four looked ok as always. That's the best part of our team by a mile. Our midfield seems to be hiding (apart from Matty Robson, despite what people think of him at least he's wants the ball).

I don't agree with that. I don't think anyone is 'hiding' Boland was the best player on the pitch today, and Liddle battled away in shocking conditions.

Robson was poor, he has loads of pace but rarely looks to beat the full back in one on one situations at the moment, maybe a confidence thing as he knows his performances have been poor of late? He is always choosing the wrong option. His final ball is terrible.

As for Gibb, I am yet to see what Wilson sees in the bloke as a pro footballer. He is a right winger yet he never even attempts to beat a man, he favourite is to give it straight back to either Williams or Barron. The only two decent crosses i've ever seen him put in have been with his left foot as well!!

I don't think its a case of hiding its a case of our wide players simply not being good enough at the moment.

I didn't say Robson played well, just said he wasn't hiding. I have to agree with Gibb, maybe it's a lack of fitness but he is slower than Adam Boyd but without the skill.
