just go on their rivals site, or thetownend site - fuc-king typical southern ignorant wan-kers. Most other southern fans have changed their perception of the North of England - but not these c-u-nts.

aye, but who always, always starts it? We look at the game as another match, they instinctively and immediately draw comparisons as they always have between north and south, and how much better they are than us etc etc - I swear down if I ever hear another southern tosspot talk in this way in any pub anywhere, he is going to get a bat. Fuck it, it's time to show them one stereotype - they are soft and we aren't, and people wonder why we have football violence
C-u-nts.

'We were on that train from Newcastle to Hartlepool. Loads of white water on the sea, and the trees (those few that could take the battering) were bending over sideways. Put about 4 layers on to get off the train and went in the first pub. Bar man had 2 black eyes and a broken nose. Kronenbergs were £1 a bottle. We got set upon on the way to the ground and they were nasty afterwards as well. '

What a f**king tit.

it's when they write shite like that for us all to see, well - we'll meet their expectations of uis in that case. It would be most unsporting of us to disappoint.
Swindon are singly the worst bunch of southern fans for this. Well, maybe Colchester as well, but I already have an irrational hatred of Swindon anyway.
Wa-n-kers.

Swindon is an A1 fcuking hole, full of inbred, big foreheaded country folk who have moved to the town and still point at planes and get scared if a train goes past, claiming it to be the work of the devil

Swindon as a place is okay, but their away fans are as you say. Would say Bristol City and Leicester are even worse though.

Swindon fans have got previous form for their ignorant and usually wrong ramblings about the north. I've always found their ridiculously pompous sense of superiority richly ironic given where they live. sctatchinghead

I live only 12 miles from Swindon and I can assure you its a bit of a dump. We always go to other centres in the region in preference to Swindon which is up there with the other railway towns like Crewe and Darlo. It has major problems with asylum seekers who hang around the pound shops in the town centre. It has its share of deprevation and dereliction. There was a nice piece on the local news about a crack down on prostitution in this "small town" http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7657403.stm. The fans, like others you could mention, have delusions of grandeur associated with their brief flirt with the top tier of English football. They are where they are in the football world because of the ability of their players and their level of support.

However I will always remember Boyd's equaliser on the last day of the season so I will always have some fond memories of the place

I have to say I really dislike going to Swindon, for the following reasons:

1) The amount of needless mini roundabouts, culminating in the town planners orgasm that is the 'magic roundabout' near the ground.

2) People in Swindon don't know how to use indicators, drive round roundabouts without cutting people up, or overtake on the ring road rather than undertake.

3) The majority of Swindon fans I've met seem Ok but there are a lot of patronising dullards among them.

4) Unless you want to get there via the east or west by motorway, it's a complete fecker to get to at any reasonable speed. Coming from the north you are guaranteed to get stuck behind a tractor or old yokel in a Nissan Micra, as well as having to crawl through the numerous villages on either the A419 or A361.

5) It is one of the most boring towns I've ever set foot in. When we played them on the last day of the season a few years ago, me and our lass stopped for the night, and couldn't find any sign of decent nightlife anywhere.

They are one of a few clubs I would love us never to have to play again. Among them are Yeovil, Brighton, Southend, Colchester, and Gillingham.
