... better known as half of the band Steely Dan (who, like Britain's XTC, existed only in the studio).

I've just listened to a song off "Circus Money", his latest album (that makes 2 in 14 years).
It's brilliant! No resemblance at all to Steely Dan.

Unfortunately this is the only clip I can find:

Yep, Walter Becker and Maddy Prior. What a duo!

Coming to prominence in the 1970s, American Rock icons Steely Dan continues to attract a massive worldwide audience.

Led by the legendary pairing of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, their unique fusion of Jazz, Funk, Rock, R&B and Pop has seen them influence a wide range of their latter day contemporaries.

Inactive from 1981 to 1992 before returning in 2003, they follow up last year’s hugely successful thirty three date world tour with a series of exclusive UK dates. Get your tickets now!

Right well, Mr Head is telling porkies, but moving on, why do these BASTADS ((c)ADG) insist on referring to bands and sports teams as a single entity?? Surely 'Steely Dan CONTINUE......' not 'continues..' and if not, shouldn't they be 'icon' not 'icons...'

When I see that in the English press, and yes folks, it's creeping in, I want to bomb Canary Wharf.

Mind there'd be no casualties in the Lehmans building eh?? clappp clappp

"The group toured from 1972 to 1974, but in 1975 became a purely studio-based act. They disbanded in 1981, and throughout most of the next decade, the duo remained largely inactive in the music world. During this time, the group steadily built and maintained a cult following."

So far so good, but...

"In 1993, the group resumed playing live concerts; the early 21st century saw Steely Dan release two albums of new material, the first of which earned a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. They have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide."

I'm not a liar, just 15 years behind the times! rolfl

I met Maddie Prior at Dock Rock and she was brilliant ! good fun down to earth etc etc !
My best moment however came in the Grand hotel at an after gig party when Gil Scott Heron came in, patted me on the head and said
"ok this black guy's gonna sit right here with these white folks" and sat next to me, a few of us all chatting away'
Ahhhhhhhh a magical moment indeed!

She and Span stole "Hard times of old England" from the Copper Family and refused to give them a penny of royalties or even acknowledge it was their song.

Bitch!

Imagined Village have since reworked the song through Billy Brag and they give credit where credit is due. (The Copper Family are part of imagined village so they didn't really have the choice like did they  ).
