Question 1 answer: The Rules do not prohibit a player from testing a hazard except when the ball lies in or touches the hazard. But if such testing improved the line of play, the player would be in breach of Rule 13-2.

Question 2 answer: either player could remove the divot after player two played his shot. Player one could remove it prior to player two playing his shot as well.

The answer is that you should walk towards the ball with you number 14 racquet and when nobody is looking hoy it towards the flag thing.
