Reward the 'real' fans

I am an ardent Pools supporter and have been for 40 years, holding a season ticket for a lot of those years.
But listening to people (good supporters in the past), I understand some have not renewed their season tickets because of the offer of bringing someone who doesn't normally go to Pools with the offer of £100 for the season and the true supporter paying a lot more.

It's our centenary year, wouldn't it have made more sense if the £100 was across the board like Huddersfield?

A full house would have been guaranteed every match, I can tell you.
One really good supporter who, along with his wife and son went home and away, are so disillusioned that it was going to cost him £700 where three 'no-supporters' would be paying £300.

Where is the justice? No thanks for all the years paying full price. Come on Pools.

Will the £100 supporters be back next year when prices are normal?
I doubt it.

I will remain a true blue, but I understand fully other people's thoughts.

I think he has a point sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

Well of course it would of been a full house, or there about, with £100 season tickets, however Huddersfields ground holds around 20000, ours doesn't, £100 per season ticket isn't financially viable for a club our size

By reading the letter he is simple stating what have the geniue fans got out of this. Its not just revenue taken with the sale of season tickets its also what is spent in the ground burgers, chips, sweets and beer.Beleive me its going to be a long season and looking at the figures at the first three home games i would love a full house week in week out .

the regular season ticket holders with sense buddied up and paid only £207( based on a terrace season ticket) thus saving £107 so thats what they got out of the deal banghead

What he is saying essentially is a load of bollocks. Nobody has got a £100 season ticket, people have used the 'buddy' thing and saved a lot of money. The people they have buddied up with aren't Jonny come lately's they are regulars who have used the system to there advantage. If you couldn't do that to your advantage and played full whack you are thick.

Why should we only pay £100? Look at the way the town is backing the club at the moment, less than 4,000 is pathetic, why should they just give tickets away to people who wouldn't support the club otherwise? The atmosphere would to probably be worse, do you reckon these people would back the team or be negative? IOR have pumped millions of pounds into this club and people expect to get a full seasons admission for virtually nothing after we only averaged 4,500 the season before on the back of being promoted. Seriously ungrateful if you ask me.

I wonder how much the club have made or lost with the offer. I thought it was a very good deal, it wasn't rocket science to see how easy it was to get a cheap season ticket, unfortunately looking at the attendances so far it looks like the floating supporters haven't taken advantage and its the usual diehards who have benefited through it.

This town does my foooking head in banghead

Just because Huddersfield did it doesn't mean we can. I mean, ffs, they had 15,000 (was it?) ticket sales. We can't even prospectively match half of that. And £7000 in ticket sales for the entire season, if it were to sell out, would hit the club hard financially.

20 quid for tomorrow nights game is extortionate. i took my littlun to the cinema last week. we sat in comfort and warmth for 2 hours and were entertained for 9 quid. it would cost more than 3 times that for us to go to pools tomorro night.

I think that is one of the main reasons the crowds are down, the pay on day the price is too expensive, way too expensive.

The season ticket offer isn't really the issue but £20 to watch third tier football is something that needs to be addressed across the board.

Never had a season ticket.....I find it odd that people who describe themselves as the 'genuine fans' are the ones who want a discount for their 'loyalty'....

Exactly, I have been going to Pools home and away since I was six years old, I'll be going until I pop my clogs whatever shite they serve me up but I've only been a season ticket holder for only about four of those seasons. If anything the people who pay on the gate are the ones putting the most money into the club. At £20 a pop we are danger of losing some of these very loyal fans.

Nigga please.

But yeah, good point. I ought to press 0 more in future

Still, £700,000 is pretty shit for Pools for a season. I suppose we'd get pie and chips sales too, even if we've got a contract with P(F)ukka pies rage

Ehhhh....I dunno.

OK sell the lot at a 100 snodgers ((c)Mutley) and Pools get 700K. They then have only 16 tickets to sell to home supporters. All season. If they maintain the current system, they have about 3500-4000 empty home fans spaces every home game still for sale but income of about.......700K. There's obviously the variable in away attendances but just to name one club, some Leeds fans would snap up a season ticket for 100 bar just to make sure they get into the one game they want to see but where 3000 fans don't fit into the Rink End.

So your plan is not only financial suicide but a recipe for trouble.

Next......
