Yes you can travel directly to York, it is about 50 mins from Hartlepool to York, via Eaglescliffe, Northallerton & Thirsk.

The trains times are earlyish, middayish and sometime later.

The rail company is called Grand Central

No Direct from Hartlepool to York all need 1 change at Thornaby unless you get the really early Train.
