What, this Stuart Hall?

Stuart Hall, now Professor of Sociology at the Open University, was a major figure in the revival of the British political Left in the 1960s and '70s. Following Althusser, he argues that the media appear to reflect reality whilst in fact they construct it.

Wasn't Stuart Hall the commentator on It's A Knockout that just used to piss himself laughing all the time?

Luckily it kicks off at something like quarter to one a.m. China time and you have to be in bed at eleven or you end up in a work camp somewhere up near the Mongolian border although I might get the brewers to tape it for us on some devilishly clever new Eastern gadget.

Like a cassette player or summat.... :sweet: :sweet: :sweet:
