We are now winning games and the playoffs are possible, but highly unlikely, mid season for us i think.

As for Wilson i still think he is clueless and a useless manager but I hope that he can take us to the playoffs.

If Monkhouse says it's possible it's possible. He's hard so don't argue with him.

70 points would see us in the play-offs. That's seven wins and two losses from nine games. Not impossible at all.

No one knows how many points the 6th placed team will get. But it ain't over till it's over.
I think we can safely stop worrying about relegation, so why the fook shouldn't we speculate on our chances in the other direction, namely up!
For fooks sake we've been living on hope for a century so why suddenly reject it now?

Most would argue that our chances of promotion would increase without you in charge though.

Chip has got things spot on - if you look at previous seasons you generally need 72-74 points to get into the play offs. For Pools to get there we have to get victories against some very difficult opponents. If we win the next 2 games then many people will become excited but too many shite home performances and chucking away leads in away games have cost us.

Thankfully though - we will stay up......

Six points with 6th having a game in hand.

With 9 games left that just isn't going to happen. We would have to win the next nine at least eight, making it twelve in row, almost impossible.

What we could achieve is momentum going into next season. When we play like we did tonight with pace throughout the team it outlines who much we have underachieved this season in a league that is not a patch on what it was in our recent previous seasons at this level.

With the players Wilson has has his disposal we really should be in the top six now, think of the points we have tossed away with barmy team selections.

We are only six points off and it's hugely frustrating we have clicked too late. Tonight was throughly enjoyable to watch though the feel good factor was back.

Mutters, who said they were left out of the side when they were fit? Porter looks to have finally shrugged off his injuries, as does Monkhouse. Wilson has picked them when they are ready and is reaping the benefits. I don't understand your point.

Porter and Monkhouse have been fit for the vast majority of the season. You only get match fit by starting games.

I know....you know....every fecker knows....that better players including the 2 above have been left out of the team when fit this season and replaced by inferior players!!!!

If the stubborn get had played his full strength team more often we would be in at least the play-offs by now....most on here and other people who I talk to seem to agree with that....you don't!!!!   banghead

Disagree about Porter, agree Monkhouse, but there have been disciplinary reasons.

So cos you don't get on/have a falling out with one of your best players for whatever reason you leave him out of the side to the detriment of Hartlepool United and its Supporters and its owners....he wants scattering just for that reason alone!!!! banghead banghead banghead  banghead banghead banghead

Porter has been in the 16 in all but 6 games of 41 this season he has started less than half of those. The six he missed through injury came in the same period during December.

He has been available just about all season.

The Monkhouse issue should have been sorted ages ago.

Wilson is paid to manage the team. If one of his players is proving a problem, he leaves him out. Don't point the finger at Wilson, point it at Monkhouse. It's not as simple as you lot make it. There's no 'i' in team.

Fair point Mutts

A month ago I would have said we were in wih a chance of the playoffs, too late now

On the other hand - we did have the most amazing unbeaten run last season - & if we keep the same team......??????

It's a nice dream, but at least we are likely to stay up now

And there's no 'I' in the 'Club' either!!!!

if it was as serious as you are making out why didn't he just get put on the transfer list and why is he in the team now....if it was so serious!!!! sctatchinghead

What's the concensus on us needing something at Walsall on the last day of the season, probably in an 'us versus them' situation, same as at Bournemouth the other year, and getting it?? rolfl rolfl rolfl rolfl

I'd have a fiver on that and I don't bet!!

Spot on Kev, this is Pools and we always seem to need something on the last game of the season, ala Swindon, Hull & Port Vale.

I have an idea. We should all stop posting any replies at all to Mr Obafemi. At present everyone is united in condemning or disagreeing with Mr Obafemi, which is very boring. I don't come on the Bunker to read people agreeing with each other; I come on for a bit of fun

then perhaps you may wish to refrain from starting threads with the heading " to all the muppets " in future.

the insinuation in that thread from the first line was that anyone who felt differently to you about the managerial situation was a muppett.

i dont have any issues with that personally, but if you live by the sword sometimes you have to be prepared to die by the sword.

im fine with you branding me a muppett if you are fine with me suggesting by doing so you look a bit of a prick.

at the end of the day its just message board crack. if i saw you in the millhouse before a game i would have no hesitation in having a chat with you and letting you buy me a drink. and that goes for anyone on here.

the same applies at the bunker 5 a sides. when new lads turn up they are welcomed into the fold and everyone gets on with it. differences of opinion on the board are forgotten about. whats said on the board stays on the board imho.
Chip i'm filling up here and i thought you didn't care. violin
