But not in our division...

Mixed feelings over this one.

They're one of darlow's rivals for promotion but it would be very very funny if they missed getting promoted because of a 10 point deduction.

You think that they would have learned their lesson after the last time

I find it hard to understand how a club who only went in administration 2 years ago, is now in a position where once more the debts they have amassed can put them in the same position.

Wasn't the 60% of your turnover rule put into place for that reason. And as they cite inland revenue debts as a major problem perhaps they have gone over that budget on player's and player's wages. resulting in a large debt to the tax man.

Regardless of the reason though ,it simply shouldn't be happening to them again in such a short period of time.

Change point deduction rule , if same club goes into administration in say 5 years from last time then double the points deduction to 20. Mind you way rule stands at moment you would think that come end of season if they are in administration even 10 points deducted will hopefully keep them down.

JUSTICE.

I love how they cite Inland Revenue debts as a problem...i think you'll find not paying them's a problem.

they can't go into admin a 3rd time I think, so this will be the last time they can do it. So there won't be a next time for going into admin, it will be the wall. I'm certain that's why Swindon HAD to be taken over and carry on as they were. What strikes me is that there is a list of clubs who won't "accept" bottom division football at any time, so they attempt to use money they haven't got to spend keeping themselves afloat in the higher divisions.
The guilty clubs are as follows:
Rotherham
Chesterfield
Swindon
Gillingham
Oldham
Bournemouth

There are others who tried to keep themselves up in the Championship but lived beyond their means
Huddersfield
Bradford

Parmo is right. Rotherham think they are a bigger club than they actually are.
I feel sorry for their creditors , although anybody that has been bitten before should be a bit more cautious.
Darlington would suffer if the Millers did go bust. Their results would be wiped out and the loids would lose four points.

To be fair, historically Rotherham have nearly always been bigger and better than Pools. Not world beaters admittedly, and yes overspending, but they have played as many seasons in the bottom division as Pools have played out of it. They are definitely bigger than us. Sorry.

They can still go to hell like.

I was going to ask how many times a club can go into administration but Parmo has answered that.
It seems that going into administration is now becoming an accepted business strategy for some clubs. Overspend & if it comes off they're safe for a while. Like them or loathe them IOR have helped us get a higher profile & higher league position. I just cannot help thinking that with all the money they've ploughed in we should actually be achieving more. Maybe I'm just being greedy.

the only reason Rotherham, Chesterfield etc used to spend more time outside the bottom division historically, is purely down to geographical location. They could get better players to play for them for not a lot of money, because it was close to where those better players lived. Hence the higher league position. We always had to get people with North East links (we never hear that phrase any more), but that left us with the scraps. There was always (and still is) a lot bigger pool of better players for the likes of those clubs to choose from, that central band across the M62 corridor has millions of people living there, between Manchester and Leeds, and down the M1 to Sheffield and Nottingham which are close to those places we mentioned such as Rotherham.. We are an hour and a half from that at least, and we have a lot smaller population in this neck of the woods.Hartlepool was also a shit-hole, but a lot has changed in the last 10-15 years, those cheating -type clubs have lost their advantage, and players are now quite willing to travel up here to play for Pools. The likes of Richie Barker moving away from that area and signing for us back then would have been a non-starter.

All these clubs who are going to the wall have the same problem... as my Uncle Ed says .... 'Champagne ideas, lemonade money' ... it always ends in tears because there's so much more money in the game even at this level... clubs run by a group of local businessman are a thing of the past, even they've been priced out of it.

But Rotherham is still a sight bigger than Hartlepool, corridor or no corridor, and well able to attract larger gates, as are nearby Barnsley and Doncaster. It just sounds like bad management. They are right to aim higher but of course silly to overspend trying to achieve that. And will be rightfully punished.

Wonder if come the end of the season they'll be ready to go with a creditor's meeting should they fail to make the playoffs

Quite how they've allowed themselves to get into this state again so quickly is ridiculous. I agree that there should be a bigger deduction if you enter Admin for a second time within five years....
