I reckon they should have four linesmen. They would each run up and down a quarter of the pitch. That would stop them not being level with play, plus the extra eyes would spot any off the ball stuff.

The way a decision would be made is that if one of them reckons its offside or a foul, the ref HAS to agree with them. I can't believe the amount of times refs overrule linos, even when the lino is next to the action and the ref is up the other end of the pitch and can't possibly have a good view of an incident.
