Not for me to say but Phillips didn’t get chance to put his own team in place really did he?
Thing is if you keep sacking managers you won’t get far.

That's a fair point. But the only ones I can think of in recent times that haven't needed to be sacked are Lee and Phillips.

It's the people that are recruiting the managers that need to go and I don't think that's Raj. He hasn't been following DS's career thinking "this geezer is definitely the bloke to get Pool's out of this league".

Philips wasn't sacked, he actually managed to do what no other manager I can remember has done and that's seen his contract out.

Fair point - there's a big difference to being sacked and not being kept on.

I agree with the constant churn, but Phillips was clearly not the answer, talked shite in interviews and mediocre results after an initial bump and being given 2 excellent centre backs for this level---the Gateshead game proved he wasnt up for it---like a rabbit in the headlights unable to change anything as we were torn apart.

The one we should have kept was Askey--though by the time he went it was hard to defend him and I certainly wasnt too bothered--but in hindsight he was far and away the best we have had since Challlinor

Askey had evidently lost interest and wasn’t the same bloke after the trouble off the pitch after the Grimsby game with certain players allegedly having hissy fits and getting us relegated.

askey gave the impression all the world was against him which came out in interviews and possibly on the training pitch and the dressing room which was hardly going to motivate anyone. he might have been right in what he felt but should have covered it up more.
