Starmer wants to allow Ukraine to fire missiles into the Russian Motherland, that's not self defence, it's escalation and the more it escalates the more others (ie Us) get drawn into the conflict and become part of it.
As far as I know Sunak wasn't pushing for escalation.

We already are. We have been since the Kharkiv frontline opened up. Another one of many of Putins red lines crossed. All under the previous government to their credit. This is Starmers first test, deliberately set up by Putin as he weighs up our new government. He has sent out the right message as far as he can.

Well as he won’t be paying out the 2.5% defence increase he’s sent out the wrong message to him.

Teddy Roosevelt said ‘Talk quietly and carry a big stick’ sums it up nicely for me.

We don't have a big stick and Starmer is being quite vocal. Not a strong position or image even.

so many brits think we have or should have and cannot wait to help giving the russian bear a bloody nose. the only question for me is would putin stop with ukraine or is it just a start like hitler with the sudetenland. people talk about the far right in this country but fail to remember that really exists in the ukraine.

then bomber harris would have been first up for trial if we had lost WW2. history and who writes it will say who is a war criminal and who is a national hero.

Harris always carries the can for Dresden…yet the yanks shared the bombing with us at Dresden…and done at the request of the Russians as it had war industries and was a major rail junction in the path of the Red Army.

When the Russians use their Iranian missiles then that is potentially a NATO red line that leads to the use of our missiles. Putin will continue to cause chaos until he's stopped.
