We’re playing football by numbers, the thinking is taken away, it’s not needed, the system takes over…under this system an obedient player is a chosen player.
Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a big wall chart on the dressing room wall with a grid on it to tell the players where to be for each scenario that occurs.
Unless it pays dividends it tends to dishearten the players as they can only take so much disappointment for little reward.
Talent is stifled for the system’s benefit….but when the system stops producing there’s little to cling to.
It’s a system for unthinking robotic workaholics who aren’t paid to think and who are happy just repeating the same siege tactics till the end of time….it’s a percentage game.

Absolutely agree, Sarll is the drill sergeant, he has got them fitter and into a system that on the face of things looks solid but it doesn't allow for any creativity. I think the players are now realising its going to be shit with Sarll running the show and are now switching off. I don't even think a win against D&R will save him, looks like the fans and players have had enough. He has to go and soon so that this decent squad of players have a chance of saving this season.

i,d guess all our opponents will have been doing exactly the same though. not just in the national league but throughout football giving us the types of games people are watching. biggest thing is why gates are holding up in football as if its fans actually believing the hype from managers and pundits about what they are watching. been to a couple of non pools games this season where on the whole games have been better but not by that much to make ours stand out as being that bad.

thats great if you thought the same after the boston game and not a knee jerk reaction to an unexpected defeat. if he did go along with his assistant then that gives another hard decision for the club to make. a mark 2 sarll or a complete change of philosophy for a manager more happy to win 3-2 than a tight 1 nil grind. even those who are happy with grinding out 1 nils with 3 points with little entertainment are getting pissed off because they are not happening joining the ones who want results and entertainment for their hard earned cash.

He's dragging the size of the crowds down before the Autumn budget n cold weather.

Like I said earlier with only 2000 STs sold.
It's now in Raj's best interests to act ASAP to save the season.
Fcuk off anyone who comes out with we only 1 point from the play offs n 111 pts still to play for.

The dressing room has gone.
That's the basic fact as everything about yesterday told us.

It’s the mechanisation of the game, balancing points against entertainment and this is the crudest application in it’s purest sense, but you need a certain type of player to perform not think to a pattern that will have you up there, but kill a bit of the joy of the game…
We need to strike a balance, this ‘WW1 going over the top and repeating the same mistake’ style of odds football is the lowest form of the game in my opinion…too many ifs and buts and not enough entertainment…you endure it for a quick fix but it never really satisfies on reflection.
We’re at a crossroads, we have the players, but we’re not using them to their natural game…the question now is can Sarll adapt his tactics to suit or his he a one trick pony.
It’s obvious the players are starting to doubt just where the season is leading.
There’s nothing there to excite, or lift the spirits, you just feel empty, indifferent after the event, no good building a Berlin Wall of a defence if your attack is playing with a ball and chain on their leg……we seem to have stopped leaking goals but stopped scoring them…..solved one problem by creating another.

one thing that he has changed is you do not come on here on a sunday morning to hear how unlucky we have been, the better team lost and if han,t been for the keeper or a shit central defender we would have won. lets get the bunker back to basics and get killip, murray and a few no hope kids back to the vic.
