I acknowledge it is still very much early days but was wondering if Sarll might turn out to be a Mick Wadsworth clone. Pools picking up results away but cant buy a win at home. Wadsworth had a well-drilled defensive team that struggled to change their style when playing at home. Are Sarlls Pools similiar? There will be folks out there who remember Wadsworth's era. Any thoughts?

Reckon that's a fair comment Ozzy.

Though I would say that Sarrl has a better quality squad for the level. Not that they are better players as we were in League 1, but a more consistent quality than most of the other teams in the conference.

Think virtually all our players would command a starting spot at every other club in this league - ManiD, Grey, Mancini, Campbell, Charman, Dodds, Waterfall, Parkes, Hunter, Sloggett, Sheron,
Madine, just for starters!

Just got to hope Uncle Darren can get a tune out of them, as a collective. Raj has certainly backed the manager - can be no excuses for less than a top 4 finish.

Wadsworth was doing it when Pools were a small fish in league 1--very different to when we are in the conference--Wadsworth approach was understandable against who we were playing....Sarlls is not

Wadsworth and Sarll certainly had the same football philosophy, play the ball long to a tall man and battle for the scraps. We looked better last night when Mancini came on and we started playing some football.

First half, despite the goal we had their measure bipod our midfield was too defensive, Mancini changed that and the second half was far more comfortable, surprised we only scored two.

on another day it could have ended 4-2 in our favour.

manni d might be able to battle on his own for scraps but looks a far better player when the ball is being played around on the deck. cannot beat playing your best players in positions and a system where they,ll thrive and not struggle.

Mani likes the ball to feet and is a footballer - he isnt the old school numpty 7ft bean pole. I dont know how DS didnt know all this before hand nor be told about how he got most of his goals last season. Hoping again now he sees this and can adapt us to to play football and feed Mani like we did last season ! he will score loads and should score loads given the quality in this side now.
