Whatever you think the new government have their foot to the gas and i would not be surprised if there are a few things that are announced at the budget that no one expects.

Well if having their foot to the gas means they've taken it off the necks of the nation's pensioners then phew.
As for the budget the hot air coming out now is a sounding board to measure public opinion.
As for the budget when a politician admits to it going to be pain then I automatically upgrade that to super pain.
Surprises, oh we'll get surprises alright. There are around nine million citizens ready, willing and able already who can vouch for that scenario.

They've had 14 years to get ready for government and yet they didn't do any impact assessment of the removal of the WFA. They've no plan for immigration. They're focusing on shit like smoking outside pubs while 18-24 year old unemployment and therefore loss of tax revenue is a huge issue. They said they were ready to hit the ground running but looks as if they've tripped over the start line.

If labour do this then it will drive a lot of pensioners into the hands of the far right.

Whilst I am not a supporter of the current Labour Party but after a couple of months people have forgotten what the Tories did to the country in their term with 6 different Prime Ministers one who nearly bankrupted the country, having to be bailed out by the Bank of England forcing interests rates up and devalued people’s pensions and another a liar even lying to the Queen.

That’s history now…..new chapter, the page turned so to speak and if the Tory’s were pulling these strokes the people saying nothing would be incandescent and fuming……you could call them two tier voters.

nothing actually has happened yet which is our only hope. are the media building things up to be so bad that if the budget isn,t quite as bad as we think it we will be relieved and happy even though it will still be costing us more. think its a wait and see and keeping our powder dry till its announced.

I think they are deliberately going overboard with the scare mongering for two reasons.
1. Sounding us out to gauge public reaction.

2. Giving the impression of heavy pain but watering it down at the budget announcement, claiming to be listening to reaction.

There is going to be a vote in Parliament over the WFA, which the government will win easily but then they might water down the effect to give the compassionate impression.

I was astonished when Reeves said but we are keeping the triple lock, which their manifesto promised they would do.
That is like saying we are taking the bacon off your plate (WFA) but don't worry we'll let you keep the egg (triple lock).

Labour MPs are getting jittery over this WFA vote as record of which way they voted will be in the public domain. Their inboxes are already heavy with pensioner rage but it is nothing to what they are going to get should they vote for the removal of WFA.

If the coming winter is a harsh one there are pensioners, especially those living on their own, who's health could be seriously affected or they may even die. If and when that happens the cry of MURDERERS will ring loudly across the land.

Already pensioners who I know are talking of taking turns to meet in each others houses so that they can reduce energy costs.

What a sorry state of affairs we have let ourselves into by electing this lot.

Yesterday I heard two young Mums discussing these affairs and one said "I voted for them but I never thought they would do what they are doing or what is forecast they are going to do. I'm beginning to think I have made a big mistake. I really hope they have a major rethink" The other one said simply " Me too".

Are we going to see a mass migration of pensioners leaving their homes and their independence to go and live with their kids. Don't rule it out.

Personally I’m willing to give the new government a chance, however when I saw that daft Labour MP saying they had to do it (and cut fuel allowance) otherwise they’d “crash the economy” I thought it was utterly ridiculous.

This fuel thing is a stupid, mean, ill thought out policy.

it didn,t because they never thought about peoples ability to pay. it was fine for a couple who both worked and anybody single but a disaster for those who had schoolleavers on a pittance you ended up having to pay for yourself.

If the incoming Labour government and the Office of Budget Responsibility was deceived and that lead to the £20B black hole being discovered then should not members of the last government be prosecuted?

Don't organise riots/protests.
Then again
3 meals a day with Internet Bunker access
Air con cells.
Maybe Pools on IPTV if you behave.

If it was last season some of the matches could have been used as punishments.

No one’s been deceived and no one will be prosecuted .
