Couldn't help noticing that Moors beat Chester 3-0 in their first game of the season and the goalscorers were Isaac Fletcher (2) and Matty Dolan.

The Pools connections on the pitch don't end there of course - Brad James is their goalie and Michael Ledger plays in defence.

Spike Lee is in his second season as their boss, Ian Clark is his assistant and Simmo is the Club Secretrary/Media and Communications Manager.

The highlights were decent - Brad made a couple of point blank saves and Dolan's goal from a free kick is a belter. Sure Callum Cooke could do a job for them - if Dolan can get away with strolling through games, Cookey would be in his element!

Moors have won something like 13 consecutive home matches (that must include friendlies) and look like they'll be contenders for the NLN play-offs again.

Wouldn't mind drawing them in a cup - at the Vic, not on their horrible sloping pitch refred

the standard drop between the 2 divisions is huge---that is why i am saying our start is so easy--we play all 4 promoted teams in the first 7 or 8 games i think....Tamworth the next one who are still part time--obviously anything can happen in a one off game but these are the sides we should be vacuuming up 3 points from every day of the week if we are serious about going up

Yes up to a point. Playing newly promoted sides early in the season isn't a gimme. Even teams that are going to be out of their depth are used to winning. It usually takes a while for the stuffing to be knocked out of them.

The game at Oxford City last September is a case in point. Pools were 2-1 up and looked different class to the home side in the first half. City ended up winning 5-2 - it must have been their best performance of the season.
